![]() There are people who say that they can do more and better things than the GOTD does with the stuff they have already, but, Do we care? We may not get tech support, but the buying customers do, and I am sure that the quality of the software has to improve when there is money at stake. I was the one that made the comment about freeware and peace of mind for getting something that people pay for. I agree with #16 Anonymous, #21 CJ, #31 ii. It's nice to see somebody excited enough about their product to provide that help anyway, despite not being required. That was thoughtful, especially considering that he didn't have to provide any support comments at all according to the "no tech support" deal with GOTD. dll file that is missing from that operating system. Very impressed that the program developer added comments here (see #37 & #43) to explain the lack of a dedicated minimize button and even put a link to where Windows 2000 users could get the needed. The only thing missing from this program is the ability to sync to a PDA, that would make it perfect. ![]() So it's really not a problem to not have a dedicated button on the interface to exit, and hiding to a tray icon works like minimizing anyway. From there it's easy to access, just right-click the tray icon and click 'Show' to bring up the program or 'Exit' to close. Almost didn't download it after reading that it could not be minimized, but a click on the 'X' button on the upper right corner hides the program to an icon on the system tray. VERY nice interface and it's like a Swiss army knife with all that it does. Too many (especially early) the sky is falling comments increases the likelihood that newcomers will avoid the program. If increased user-ship and spread the good word is your objective then this will be beneficial to all. (Note to Giveaway of the Day - Perhaps you could Prominently ask that users with problems other than registering should wait a few hours before declaring negative comments as they may have overlooked much to their surprise the simple solution to their problem. None of us were born knowing either computers or potty so no more potty mouthing please! Better to admit " I have no idea and I need more time and more help" than to say "This is useless" or "It is junk because I can't get it to work." Don't complain about a poor road map to the the bathroom if you haven't been potty trained yet! Be patient! We all had to be trained at sometime. New programs can be very confusing to newbies just as about anything can be to someone who has never walked but expects to run just after being a newborn computer user. No need to wait for the note computer to be available.Īdvice to Knee jerk complainers or perhaps ones who just panic: This group was one of websites so it was useful to have should one member of my family be using one computer the other computer was free with the same notes and links available. Instantly I had the same group with all the notes that I had put on the first computer. One is a 384 meg maxed memory Pentium III with Windows 2000 Professional NT 650? megahertz (2000) and the other is a 2.20 gigahertz Intel Pentium 4 with 512 Megs memory (2003).Īfter setting up several notes on one machine I used the options backup menu to make a note.nbk file that I put on the other machine and imported the backup. ![]() I have it on machines with different operating systems. Notables is very useful in doing just what it says it will do.
